Complete. One more to go- I blocked this one differently and I am 100% happier with it.

2nd hand dyed yarn

I don't love this one as much- its not as variegated as I would have liked, and yet not as solid either. I'm sure it will make something lovely, just not sure yet what that might be.

This is a washcloth for a baby- the same one thats getting the booties- which mean I have one person off the list! I just thought it would be cute with the baby soap I had and also I tried out basketweave stitch. Very easy and I think cute.

From what is it to there it is #20

I made these Mary Jane booties for a Christmas gift. Alas, I think they felted too small to save for Christmas. So, I think I'll have to mail them now. A 6 week old baby I think they fill fit- 3 months, I'm not so sure. I still think they came out adorable and they were fast. I do have to find some tiny buttons and elastic for the straps, though.

And here they are completely done a few days later- added the elastic loop and pearlized button.

Diminishing returns?

I was all excited today to show the DH how far I was on the sock... he was very confused- Socks? he said. Then he went into the law of diminishing returns and how you can buy socks so cheap and they won't stay up and and and... Hello?! Apparently he thought I was knitting socks to save money. Um no. You see to me, socks are like the "aaaaaawwww" of knitting that I have been too scared to try for months. This is huge for me. Diminishing returns. Harumph!

I'm making a sock.... really...

And here it is- notice the side where I split the stitches- looks good. The side I joined not so good. Its getting tighter as I go, I guess maybe I'm just getting a very small amount better at it. I'm not sure if I should contine or tear it out (again.... for the 4th time). Also just totally ignore a few mistaken ribbed stitches...

I like it

I really really like it. Now, what to make with 220yards of worsted wool????? hmmm...

And if you try and stripe your yarn with them- you get something like this. Here it is cooling, so I don't know if the colors will stay this vivid or not. I was going for more pink and orange, but ended up with mostly orange..... because they all sorta ran together.

Here I am just experimenting with making some plain jeans more "girlie" I have mixed feelings on the results, but this was my first attempt.

It felted alot more than I expected for just one run through the wash- so I had to stretch it to block it- I'm not totally happy with the shape- but if you're 2 maybe its ok? I dunno.

One crazy looking prefelted Princess cone hat. Ummm. Yeah. I learned ssk and small diameter circ knitting on this one. Its in the washer right now, hopefully felting into something a kid would like to dress up in!

I needed a prize for a raffle drawing so I made this quick bath mitt- and added in some lovely handmade soap from www.wildlyluckysoap.com and here it is.

The above photo is before the hood was actually attached. The 2nd one on the doll is all finished- I hope it fits better on an actual child, but I wanted to get the idea with the hood- I like the hood, pretty darble!
As usual, I am never as happy with the finishing aspects as the actual knitting. But I am pretty happy with it overall- its very soft and comfy and I think a little baby will like to snuggle in it!
I discovered there is a yarn store about 5 minutes away- its pretty new- the yarns were nice and so were the people- buy yikes $$$. They do offer technical help with finishing for $15 for 30 minutes.... I may need that. And they had yarn needles today

Will this become a sweater today?

Hard to say. I managed to seam some of it last night and then realized one of the sleeves was on very very wrong. So, I tore it apart this morning and now I just have to attach the hood which has me thoroughly perplexed.
Its made with some very nice organic cotton yarn- Henry's Attic Inca Cotton yarn in sage. Pattern is Debbie Bliss hooded sweater.

I have been a *bit* ahem remiss, in posting on my blog. I did finish 3 yes, 3 booga bags for mothers day (argh, I can't seem to find the pic right now)- and since then I taught my MIL how to knit west coast style, acquired a ton of knitting needles and some yarn from my gram, frogged a few sample things and actually knit, um, nothing. I am working on a tiny baby thing right now- we'll see when that ever gets done.

Post-felting & blocked for drying. So bummed I can't do the handles yet! I'm really happy with it for the most part- the bottom is a little bulky on the corners, I think b/c of the jacked up way I picked up the stitches. I washed it 4 times to get the stitches down.

My first sweater- made from this pattern http://margarethubertoriginals.com/newpage1.htm Its was definately easy to make- the sleeves fit perfect, but I would make the body longer next time. Anyway, its good for layering over a long sleeve shirt. Not too bad for my a first sweater, I don't think?
Of course, last night when I finished it was sooooo excited for her to try it on. I tried wrestling it on her twice while she fought me off like a crazed mongoose. Then she said she was going to "put it away" took it from me and threw it on the floor in the spare bedroom. Geesh. Apparently, it didn't even rate the laundry basket where she puts her clothes she doesn't want to wear.
