For a guy #31

I think, at least I hope this is sufficiently "young guy" enough. Bernat camo yarn- just for fun.

Technicolor mittens

Now, try not to be jealous- yes, they are fabulous- but there will be only one pair like this! (hey, there may only be one mitten like this)

What can I say? Its my first try at mittens- I can say this- they will be warm and they were made with love.

If you're asking yourself regarding the colors "what was she thinking?" Well, my answer would be I was not thinking this.....

Rumors (#30)

Pattons Rumors yarn- acrylic/alpaca blend. Ehh. In the store this yarn was talking to me, calling me. I had several yarns picked out and somehow this one actually made the cut.
Hat- I like it. I modified the other pattern I have been making a little bit- this brim is nice worn down or rolled a little bit, which I think makes it a touch more feminine.

Check my handsome hat model w/ the grumpy face

one bulky tweed hat- this was nice yarn to work with- Patons Chunky shetland tweed- it knit up fast, nice and soft. For acrylic blend, I liked it.
And really, I mean, I knit this hat in one evening, so he shouldn't be the one looking crabby- hello, dpns, anyone?

Mama, you made tacos!

Thats what she calls octopus. Yeah thats what she calls the tassles. Now I just need to find a pattern to make her a "taco".
This fits an adult too- stretched and I think its pretty fun- plus, I'm liking my hand dyed yarn more and more!
I also think its just perfect for a 10 year old girl.

It was 87 degrees here today

So I decided to knit this "Very warm hat" from KP Sierra Coal & Tide. I really liked knitting with Sierra. ALso, I have some left- I thought I would be short of the black, hence the blue stripe, but now I think I would have had enough. I like it. It looks like a mans hat, doncha think?
I think I may try another one w/ 2 strands of worsted wool- maybe the red that I dyed.

Just so you know

I can cable w/ a chopstick and here's proof

I like this alot- #25

Next time, I want to use some nicer yarn- this is Wool ease. Ehh. I think another yarn might show the cables better. But, I need to use some yarn that I have.
Also, I want to flip the pattern so that I can knit instead of purl the upper portion. Eeesh.

please ignore the model.... its 11pm ya know....
